SAN JUAN MARKET

Eclectic. Vibrant. Local.

How much I love the Sunday market in San Juan.

There simply is no better way to enjoy that bohemian island vibe than to chill on one of the best Ibiza markets. The delightful village of San Juan provides the perfect backdrop and is always a feast for the senses.

Beautiful people, live music, delicious healthy treats and an abundance of made-in-Ibiza products: jewellery, clothes, art, beauty, home decor and anything that can't be placed into a category.

Eccentric chic Ibiza style.

Locals like to hang out here as much as elegant holidaymakers. It’s lively, it’s dazzling, and you really get to experience the creativity of this beautiful island and its residents.

I particularly love it in the cooler winter months. I have a coffee, wander around and enjoy some delicious superfood treats and a little small talk. It's a cozy market centered around the square so it's impossible to hide, familiar faces everywhere. Such a cheerful and relaxed vibe.

For lunch I retreat to the übercool Los Otros, a small concept store in San Juan with an amazingly healthy and satisfying menu.
Cookbook author and chef Mirijam puts her heart and soul into every single dish.

By the afternoon the market is in full swing with live music from local musicians, some of them truly amazing. The atmosphere is infectious - so much laughing, dancing, swinging and clapping. It is simply impossible not to join in.

A sensory overload in the best possible way.

Sunday Funday it is!

HOW TO GET HERE:

The market is right in the centre of San Juan in the North of Ibiza. It does get pretty busy but there is plenty of organised parking available.

WHEN TO GO:

All year every Sunday 10.00 - 16.00, with live music from about midday (after Sunday service at the church which is wonderful to watch too). Late morning on the market is my favourite time.
